  My Accelerated MX readers, I sincerely apologize for not posting much lately. I have been so tremendously busy that I have neglected to blog! With school, my recent business opportunities, and local MX things.. I just haven't had the time.
 However, I would like to take the time to thank two VERY important people whom have supported me in my most recent decision. Words can not express how much gratitude I have for Robert Settles, Owner of No Limit MX, and Miss Ashley Dye for all of their support that they have given to me in my choice of creating a line of clothing.
 Without them, I don't think I would've been able to believe in myself enough to pursue this. I have thanked them already but I feel as though if I do it through here, it will be more open.
 Thank you both so very much! You guys were correct when you had told me I am very ambitious and I need to put myself first! With this line of clothing, I hope to acheive my goal of being even more so successful than I had ever believed I would have been!

So thank you both again! I appreciate it whole-heartedly.

Surprising..

  So, I was curious about this.. and for those of you who actually KNOW me, you know when I'm curious.. I satisfy my curiosity. I asked Jeff Alessi (801) If he ever has those days that he wishes that he was normal and not famous. His answer kind of surprised me. He said; "I would say fame is just being watched, I'm watched by so many kids and parents and I want to be a good example for them, so I would say the only time I don't like all the fame, is when I'm doing stupid things that make me look like someone I'm not but aside from that I love going to dinner and having some lil kid ask for an autograph, I like making my fans happy"
    To be honest, out of all the Professional Riders that I have had the opportunity to talk to.. Jeff Alessi seems to have his head on straight and know that he is in front of the spotlight and that he is in fact a role model. He isn't like some of the riders who turn away a fan when they ask for an autograph. That is really sweet.
 And with that being said, I must say Thank You.. Mister Alessi, For being a more than Ideal role model.

For the most part...

  Determination. To be a true MX racer, you must have determination. People who do MX are truly a breed apart from everyone else, not to mention their support system they have behind them. They're significant as well. I have known too many people who have given up because they have gotten injured in a race, and it wasn't a massive injury.

  I give mad props to everyone who has ever sustained an injury and continued racing. I respect the people who crash, break bones, but yet keep on racing just because they want first. That right there is a determined individual, dumb because it may get worse.. but determined! 

  As for the support system behind the rider whether it be a trainer, family, and/or team.. I salute you. From helping prepare for a race,  The trash talk at the track, and to the aftermath of a races results you always stick by their side. That is amazing. 

  To the MX girlfriends, you have some of the highest respect from me as a person in general. I know being the girlfriend of an MX racer is a hard job. Sometimes you get labeled as a moto ho. Maybe it's because you're absolutely gorgeous and people are jealous, or maybe it is because you're dating or married to one of the best riders. What ever the case may be, to take the shit that you get.. from riders and jealous whores, is pretty commendable. *Salutes* Not to mention  the actual harlots that are trying to take your man. Now that is a hard thing to handle. I would know, I've had it happen to me and he actually left me for her, but oh well! Enough of my SOB story. MX girlfriends, you rock!

  For the girls who race, you deal with some tough shit.. not going to lie. There aren't too many girls who are capable of doing what you do. Motocross isn't a team sport! You have to deal all on your own. Sometimes it can get tough. Criticism from other riders, male or female, can either make you or break you. In some cases it does both, by which I mean you break down so much that it motivates you to a point that you keep on going until you're the best or the best you can be. 

  The same goes for guys. And I apologize that This post is all over the place.. I just have a lot going on in my mind between finding a date for my aunts wedding to getting ready for vacation that when something pops into my head I write it down. 

  Going back to where I was, to all the racers out there, your passion, dedication and your true ability of what you are or aren't able to do on a bike.. THAT is what makes you, you. Don't ever forget that. That my friends, is why you have my respect.

   So why do girls at the track get the rep of so called "moto hoes"? I mean, haha Yes!!! Some of them dress a little more.. provacative than some of the other girls..but still! Maybe they just love Motocross!?
   Okay.. okay.. Maybe they just want attention, and okay.. maybe they just want to um.. "ride" (pun intended) every guy that rides as well!
   Anyway.. All I'm asking is that no matter how dumb they are, no matter how little they actually know about MX, and no matter how skanky they look.. please be nice to them! Haha.
   Just a word of advice, a simple "don't judge a book by its cover" type story.. I don't know.. maybe one day it'll be your wife!

Electric or Gas?

Are you still riding a Good old, classic, conventional gas- powered dirt bike? Now, people are really pretty much getting sick and tired of having to pay the sky rocketing gas prices and the myths of global warming. I have found an environmentally friendly and economical substitute for a conventional, gas- powered dirt bike. Low and behold the electric dirt bike!

The electric dirt bike can pretty much do everything that a gas- powered bike can. This is perfect for our four corners region because yes, we are predominately a MX (motocross) based town, with the exception of football. As well as the minimizing of noise and pollution that a gas- powered bike emits.

Now say that you’re a parent and your child wants a bike. An electric bike is the perfect solution to that problem! Haha. This offers the thrill and adrenaline rush that a gas- powered bike would, but it’s a safer alternative. Not to mention that they can actually accentuate the personality of your child, while keeping them in shape as well as adding excitement to the outdoors!

The only down fall of the electrically powered bike is the cost, which runs a slight bit steeper than the cost of a regular dirt bike. My prediction, however, is that the cost will fall in the next couple of years to come. Keep in mind that the electrical dirt bike will pretty much pay for itself because the cost of gas is emptying wallets, and you’re also helping do your part in a greener environment.

Yes... Just.. YES!

Arm-Pump fix?

So, I'm pretty sure everybody who rides has experianced arm pump at one time or another... haha .. It can be horrible and trechorous, and keep you from performing at your most absolute best. I have found a .. well. . . somewhat effective way, to eliminate arm pump, thanks to KTM off-road fast-guy Kurt Caselli. Scope it!
 1.) You do each arm separately and you start out by pumping your arm by using a hand exerciser. (For ladies, i suggest you do not read this around guys that have dirty minds!) You squeeze the hand exerciser until you really can't do it anymore...
 2.)The next thing to do is start TIGHTLY wrapping your arm from the wrist up using an ACE bandage or a wrap, or something of that nature..  This is so it can push the blood and lactic acid, out of your arm.
 3.) When you have wrapped up to your elbow, you should elevate it over your head for about a minute or maybe even a minute and a half.
 4.)After this, you do the same thing to the other arm.. hahah Do this for.. ahhh.. about three times on each arm. It also works really well for you if you do it about 45 min. before a race.

Now, I'm not too sure it works for everyone, and if you guys try this out, I'd like to hear from you about how well it did or didn't work!!

R.I.P. 81

Worker Killed on 10 Fwy ID'd as Son of Racer Bruce Penhall

BALDWIN PARK, Calif. (KTLA) -- The son of motorcycle speedway racing legend and actor Bruce Penhall was struck and killed by a suspected drunk driver Thursday morning on the 10 Freeway in Baldwin Park.

The accident happened around 11:35 p.m. on the westbound 10 at Francisquito Avenue, according to the CHP.

Connor Pehnall, 21, was doing contract work for Caltrans when he was hit.
The Pehnall family owns Pehall Co., located in Anaheim, which does concrete cutting.

According to the CHP, the 10 is closed nightly between La Puente Avenue and the 605 Freeway.

The closure had been in effect for about an hour when a motorist -- identified as 37-year-old Sakamoto Tatsuhiko, of Arcadia -- careened through the work zone.

He hit Penhall with his Toyota RAV4 while driving about 60 mph, tossing him 50 to 75 feet. Penhall died on impact, authorities said.

Tatsuhiko initially tried to flee, but officers were able to keep him at the scene, CHP Officer Edmund Zorilla said.

He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked at the Industry Sheriff's Station.

Tatsuhiko could also face charges of vehicular manslaughter.

Penhall is the son of actor Bruce Penhall, who is best known for his role on the final season of "CHiPs."

Penhall is also former American motorcycle speedway racer. He was the World Speedway Champion in 1981 and 1982.

Connor was said to be following in his dad's footsteps in the racing world.

He had been racing motorcycles since 2003, wearing the number 81.

His brother, Ryan Penhall, is also a motorcycle racer.

He posted to his Twitter account at 1 a.m. Thursday, saying, "You never know what you have till you lose it.. Don't call me."

Caltrans says that safety programs like "Slow for the Cone Zone" have reduced traffic fatalities on highways significantly.

Unfortunately, however, these kinds of accidents still happen all too often.

CHP Southern Division offered its sympathies via Twitter: "Our condolences to our brother Bruce Penhall and his family. Your extended CHP family mourns along with you. Rest in peace @ConnorPenhall."

The westbound 10 was completely shut down at La Puente after the accident. It reopened around 6 a.m

Andrew Gallegos Interview

To start, I'd like to ask you when did you started riding?



AG:
About six years ago.



G:
And how old are you now?



A:
Eighteen.



G:
So it's safe to say you got your first bike when you were what, 12-13ish? Am I correct? Haha.



A:
Yes. Haha I started on 85cc's



G:
Awesome!! Do you race, or do you just ride?



A:
Race! :)



G:
Haha. And why do you race, Andrew? (:



A:
Cause it's a lot of fun. It Also gives you an adrenaline rush like no other! And I depend on myself in a race, not teammates.



G:
So what you're saying is that you do it for the thrill? What exactly gives you the rush?



A:
Yeah, somewhat. A lot of things do. Like, when you're battling someone and you're inches away from them in the air?!



G:
And how do you feel when you get the holeshot? Or when you win? Hah.



A:
It feels pretty good. It makes me think I'm getting closer to going pro!



G:
What are some of the opportunities that you have been presented with, through MX?



A:
What do you mean?



G:
Well like, let me put it this way. Have you been given products, or had the chance to go places because of MX?



A:
Not really, the only thing was that I was sponsored by "Handlebar Motorsports".



G:
Do you have any sponsors now, or are you still sponsored by "Handlebar Motorsports"?



A:
No, because I went to kawasaki. And yes I am. By o'neal, garnea, And spy.



G:
Ahhh! I see! Haha(: So you ride a Kawi now? Do you plan to stick with that manufacturer, or do you think you'll switch?(:



A:
I'll be switching back to Honda soon, hopefully! :)



G:
That's a good thing, I take it? Haha (:



A:
Yes! I like Honda's a lot better!

That's awesome! Haha. So what gets you ready for a race?



A:
Just have to stay calm, and don't get nervous. Also just think and do what I'm capable of doing.



G:
That's one of the best strategies that I have heard!(: What do you think the best thing about MX, in general, is?



A:
Thank you! And there's a lot, but I would say it's just all around fun. If you win, lose or even crash.. It's still way fun!



G:

A:
A LOT!! Probably a little over a hundred.

A:
Probably like 3/4 of them..

What class do you race in?



A:
250 B and College boy.

What is (or was) your favorite race or track? (:



A:
I've had a lot of favorite races! Andy favorite tracks would be Aztec and Moab!



G:
Do you travel a lot?



A:
Not a lot, but I do travel.



G:
Where all have you gone while racing?



A:
Aztec, Albuquerque, Monticello, Moab, Price, Grand Junction, Hobbs, Clovis, Moriarty, and Farmington.



G:
What is the hardest thing about MX?



A:
Arm Pump!!



G:
Would you say it's physically demanding?



A:
Very! It is the second most physically demanding sport!



G:
Would you say it's harder the spectators think it is?



A:
Way harder!



G:
How so?



A:
Most people think you just sit down and twist the throttle.



G:
But that's not so?



A:
It takes a lot of skill and physical shape..



G:
I can imagine! What is (or was) the worst injury you've gotten while racing and riding?



A:
Broken Femer..

Oh geeze! I bet that hurt! D:



A:
Yeah. It doesn't feel too good!

Do you have any major, or even minor races coming up? If so, when and where?



A:
I'm racing tomorrow, March 3rd, in Amarillo, TX.

Yes, I am a girl and I am a fan of Supercross and Motocross.
No, I do NOT base my favorite riders or my race predictions based on a riders looks. (Although, I will not lie there are some attractive riders!)
My picks are soley based on a riders passion and dedication for the sport and their true abolity of what they can accomplish on a dirtbike.
So anyone who doubts my love for the sport because it is a dominant male sport, you need a major reality check.

Best thing I ever read...

I was browsing on my twitter, and this Person I was following tweeted something about the hottest Mx dude. So naturally, I checked it out. Then I got to browsing around the site and  found this! I thought it was pretty spot on!  Scope this..


First of all I need to make something very clear… there are tons of ladies out there that ride motocross. And although I would like to say that all of us are the same, CLEARLY that is not the case. I mean, not all of us can throw down sick whips and end up in Vogue Magazine like Ashley Fiolek. But we do have some qualities that I believe can be shared across the board.
CONFIDENCE- Alright so here goes my slight “sorority girl” speech about confidence, but bear with me. Sometimes I feel as though the world tells women to not be confident and to lean on the confidence of a man to be successful. Between pictures in magazines and the historical female roles in movies, the media tells us that you know, women aren’t supposed to be on top (no pun intended). However, one of the great things about motocross is that we are learning the exact opposite. To be the best you have to be confident. To go as fast as possible around a track that is ultimately going to kill you if you back down… I mean… how can you survive if you aren’t confident.
SASS- There is definitely a difference between cute sass and nasty sass. And personally, I feel as though motocross ladies have a particular level of both. You can’t be doing cute sass when you push competition down in a corner. That would definitely be nasty sass. However, cute sass comes around when that super sexy topless motocross guy walks by and tells you that you can’t ride. PSH! Twirling your hair and rolling your eyes and giving him the opportunity to race you… now THAT is cute sass. But either way, us motocross ladies definitely have some sass.
STRENGTH- Between inner strength and physical strength, motocross ladies stand out. It takes a lot of inner strength to be successful on the track. First of all, most of the time we are the only female suited out during practices. To be able to go out there and be different and stay concentrated on why you are there isn’t always the easiest. Being able to push past the “I wonder what they are thinking” mentality and concentrate on the “let me show them what I’ve got” mentality takes a lot of inner strength. Second of all, we don’t have “man muscles” so building the muscle mass required to do what we need to do on the track takes some serious dedication and hard work. Not only are we in the gym (or at least we SHOULD be) we are building up muscles that most women don’t need. I mean, straightening hair and doing my fingernails only require so much muscle. But jumping a 120 foot triple and NOT DYING… now that takes some muscle.
CLASS- I don’t think I say anything as much as I say “keep it classy.” There are times when I want to throw my bike down and Bogle slap the heck out of people. There are also times when I feel like I am not doing as well as I should be and I simply want to…well…make myself look like a fool to say the least. But no. I sit back and think “hmmm…what would Audrey Hepburn do in this situation?” Okay so no Audrey most likely would never put herself in a situation to where she would have to take her pearls out of her ears, but you get my point.
PERSONALITY- I don’t think I have ever met so many amazing, real, fun girls outside of the track. I mean my sorority definitely has some characters, but motocross ladies are freaking amazing. Between the humor, yet the seriousness, the silliness yet the concentration… I really could go on. But for the most part, if you are female and you ride dirtbikes, you have to be a pretty cool person.
So, I could go on and on about what it takes to be a motocross lady, but by now I think you get the point.

How long have you been racing/riding for?

TL:
Your welcome and 4 years

Me:
What made you decide to do it? ride and race I mean

TL:
It looked like so much fun and there was an amazing adrenaline rush that I felt like I needed

Me:
What do you mean, like what gives you the adrenaline rush? I mean.. For some people it's when they get the holeshot, and when they hit a jump. What's it like for you?

TL:
Just being on the bike gives me that adrenaline rush and the feeling like I'm on top of the world but especially when the gates are about to drop.

Me:

I see.. And what about when you win? haha Is it the same feeling then, or something more powerful?

TL:

Pretty much the same

Me:

Really? I'd think it'd be something more, you know?

TL:

Well it depends on what class it is if its a small class eh but when I take first out of 30 kids yeah best feeling ever.

Me:

That makes more sense now. So do you have a preferred bike brand? Or are you subject to price and whatever is available?

TL:

Suzuki, but when I get a new bike KTM.

Me:

I see, In what class do you race? And are you sponsored?

TL:

I race in 250 c stock and mod and right now my only sponsor is Osiris shoes due to my injury.

Me:

But other then that you would have more, if you hadn't tore your ACL?

TL:

Yeah I had offers from Leatt, GoPro, BTO sports, Spy Optics and many others but this injury messed things up.

Me:

Oh no!! If you don't mind me asking Tyler, How old are you?

TL:

15 ha

Wow, You have so much going for you being only 15! Haha.

TL:

Haha yeah trying to make a name for myself

It never fails that they turn out to be jerks.
Nevertheless, 99% of the guys that I have dated have turned out to be jerks.

no expectations. no disappointments.

I've come to the conclusion that if you don't expect anything, whether it be from people or things, you won't get disappointed! Now, don't get me wrong! There are certain things that you SHOULD expect things from, like when you do something good or something? lol I really don't know what I meant by that!
But anyways! Back to the main topic here.
Going through and looking back on my life, Ive always expected the best out of people. I always looked for the Good in them, and not the bad. It is true that I care too much, though. And that single reason alone is why I end up hurt as much as I am.
My friends? PFT! What "Friends"? All I have are people who are fake and only use me for things.
I always get my hope up about things, only to get them crushed!

This isn't going to be the case anymore, I am not going to care about things that don't matter! The same goes for people. I am going to reinvent my life, and myself.

No expectations, no disappointments. Live life to the fullest and don't regret a single thing<3
