So, I'm pretty sure everybody who rides has experianced arm pump at one time or another... haha .. It can be horrible and trechorous, and keep you from performing at your most absolute best. I have found a .. well. . . somewhat effective way, to eliminate arm pump, thanks to KTM off-road fast-guy Kurt Caselli. Scope it!
1.) You do each arm separately and you start out by pumping your arm by using a hand exerciser. (For ladies, i suggest you do not read this around guys that have dirty minds!) You squeeze the hand exerciser until you really can't do it anymore...
2.)The next thing to do is start TIGHTLY wrapping your arm from the wrist up using an ACE bandage or a wrap, or something of that nature.. This is so it can push the blood and lactic acid, out of your arm.
3.) When you have wrapped up to your elbow, you should elevate it over your head for about a minute or maybe even a minute and a half.
4.)After this, you do the same thing to the other arm.. hahah Do this for.. ahhh.. about three times on each arm. It also works really well for you if you do it about 45 min. before a race.
Now, I'm not too sure it works for everyone, and if you guys try this out, I'd like to hear from you about how well it did or didn't work!!
